Ethan POV

The splash of water hit my ears, sharp, constant. It bounced off the tiles and into my chest. Each drop reminded me of her. Warm. Soft. Mine. And yet, something darker twisted in my chest, anger, desire, both wrapped together.

I stayed in the doorway. Hands clenched on the frame. My jaw ached. My heart thumped. Every nerve in me screamed. She didn’t know I was here. She didn’t know I could hear the small noises—the slip of soap, the soft gasp when water hit her skin.
