Ethan POV

At the golf field.

The air was heavy with rain that hadn’t fallen yet. Gray clouds hung low, pressing on everything. The grass smelled wet. My shoes sank a little each time I moved. I didn’t care. I lifted the club, lined the ball, and hit. It cut through the air with that clean metallic sound that usually cleared my head. Today, it didn’t.
