"Try this one," I said as I picked up a piece of pie with a fork from the table opposite us and moved it to Kyle's lips.

He hesitated but opened his mouth and ate.

I had been feeding him for some minutes, and I was waiting for him to compliment Nana's cooking, yet he was quiet.

"Kyle, what's wrong?" I asked softly, concerned.

He moved me from his lap and helped me sit next to him.
