"How are they holding up?" I asked Maggie, concerned.

Yesterday, they refused to leave their child's side, even when we offered them a room. I understood that they still had their guard up, so I wasn't going to nag them to do something they didn't want.

"I went to check up on them this morning, and they seem better than yesterday. The little girl is awake, and the parents seem rather relieved," she answered with a smile.
