I knocked on Akira's door a few times, waiting for her response.

I knew she was in by her scent, yet she wasn't responding or opening the door.

"Akira, it's me," I said loudly.

She obviously could tell that it was me because she could also pick up my scent.

When I heard heavy footsteps approaching in a rather slow manner, I smiled.

I didn't want to look annoyed or upset in any way.
