Don't give a fuck

“So, you mean my late father was a small fry alpha that could be easily killed like a dog?” Amaya replied, her eyes turning straight to the speaker.

The Lycan king bit his lips to hold back a snicker.

“This... I never said that.”

The alpha went speechless, retracting his words in a hurry. Howard was one of the most powerful alpha kings of his time. Calling him a small fry would be equivalent to inviting problems.

“Then don’t cause misunderstanding. The Frost family was brutally betrayed despite their contributions to society. Yet no one raised an eyebrow. The traitor was welcomed with open arms, even though the truth was glaringly obvious. Since law of the jungle is the new trend, why won’t I bring them to justice? They were all people under my territory who betrayed me. Do I need permission to discipline my own people?”

“Everyone knows the alpha king was killed in a rogue attack…” Alpha Zenith Dawson, Ethan’s brother, began, making Amaya’s eyes narrow dangerously.

“Rogue attack. Can you hear yourself? Is it possible that Alpha King Howard, as powerful as he was, would be killed by mere rogues?”

Everyone turned to the Lycan king at this point, wondering why he kept silent. The discussion was becoming tricky, and no one wanted to get in trouble. It was better if he took the lead.

“But it doesn’t change the fact that you acted without proof. Killing an alpha without justification has severe consequences. And in your case, you didn’t just kill one but four.” The Lycan king’s tone was lazy, and he reached for his glass of wine.

Amaya smirked on hearing that. Kettle calling pot black. The Lycan king had killed more than forty alphas—powerful ones—without explaining anything to anyone. He was lecturing her on morality when he had none.

However, calling him out now was impossible. She had not rebuilt her clan; blatantly challenging him would be the height of folly.

“Proof? I have plenty of those. I never act without conviction,” Amaya said and pointed to the projector.

Videos of Ethan paying the rogues and his men opening the borders, then gates for them to enter Silver Fang, began to play. Soon, it moved to that of Stacy poisoning her before the wedding, Erica kicking her into the fire, Erica giving her father a poisoned glass of water under the guise of apology.

The video moved to Erica offering her mother poisoned juice, then telling her about the attack, making her rush out to help her mate. And then came the hospital scene of Ethan and Stacy having sex right beside her, and subsequently injecting her with poison and strangling her to make sure. It also showed slides of Ethan meeting with some of the executed people before the incident.

Without warning, Amaya cut the video off.

“I still have more proof apart from these, but I will hold it back for now. A person who ruthlessly did that to the family who sheltered him when he was a fugitive running from his brother due to an inheritance war—such betrayal, biting the hands that fed them—do they deserve mercy?”

“But it doesn’t change the fact that you killed a pregnant woman. It’s against the law to hurt pregnant women, even in war,” the Lycan king said slowly, watching Amaya, who was scowling at him.

“My mother was also pregnant with the long-awaited son after decades of hoping on the goddess. It had not been announced to avoid the news overshadowing the ascension ceremony.”

Amaya’s tone became stronger and more forceful at this point, with barely controlled emotions.

“A pregnant Luna, the wife of an alpha king who had made numerous contributions, was killed alongside his daughter and himself, yet nothing was done.”

“You kept your ass at the wolf emperor’s position doing nothing while letting your loyal subject be wronged. And now, you suddenly want to get justice for a traitor? How nice!”

“Now I’m beginning to think that Ethan was not acting alone. Did you all plan with him to exterminate the Frost family? Was it because of the greed of some unscrupulous alphas who wanted a share of the Silver Fang resources? Or was it your order, your majesty?”

“You!” Ragnar’s assistant immediately stood up, his face red with anger at her blatant disrespect.

Even the Lycan king was left speechless. No one had ever dared to talk to him like that, much less a little brat.

“Do you have a death wish, using that tone on me?” the Lycan king asked, smiling warmly.

“Can you kill me?” Amaya asked and stood up, staring down at him in disdain, which raised outrage among everyone in the room.

“You little girl! How dare you disrespect the Lycan king, who is also the wolf emperor? Go down on your knees and apologize immediately before he gets angry!” an alpha close to her late father said in panic, fearing his retaliation.

Amaya ignored him and faced the Lycan king.

“One thing I hate the most is threats. Don’t you ever threaten me with death. I already died once; I won’t die again. I used to respect you when I thought you were decent. But now, all I feel for you is disdain. I never knew you were so partial and conceited. All those years of respect were wasted on you.”

“Excuse you?” the Lycan king whispered in a glacial voice hiding barely concealed fury, no longer finding her cute. His face darkened—a storm gathered, ready to break out.

“Your stereotype against women is glaring. It was okay for him to carry out a coup. It was okay for a traitor to join the council—all okay because he was a man. But I can’t take my pack without a fight, or get revenge for my parents without criticism, nor even sit at my rightful spot without using force, all because I was born a female. Know this now, I stopped being that woman a long time ago.”

Her eyes turned fierce, the veins on her neck popping out.

“Anyone who hurts me or tries to hurt my pack and the territories under me will only be asking for trouble. I will never cower to you or anyone else. If you think I don’t deserve to be an alpha king because I’m not male, come bite me—if you can. And the next time you call me for such nonsense, I won’t honor it.”

Ragnar’s eyes went to Amaya’s white neck the moment she said bite, and he fantasized about pinning her beneath him, biting her to a mess. This stubborn brat must be tamed.

“Stop right there,” he ordered the moment she turned to leave.

Amaya ignored him and continued on her way. “If you want me to obey you, you have to earn my respect once again. The moment you joined them to act this way, you lost all of it.”

Ragnar’s gamma, an alpha-ranked powerful wolf, immediately made a move on receiving Ragnar’s signal. His claw appeared behind Amaya with frightening speed, the attack quick and merciless.

Amaya dodged to the side and met the claw with her raw fist, causing blood and fur to splatter. Without warning, she kicked him to the wall and slapped him, making him drop to his knees. Everyone in the room became speechless.

That was Alpha Orion, one of the Lycan king’s twelve generals—but he was beaten down like a puppy by a small girl.

Everyone turned to look at her again, as if they were just seeing her for the first time.
