“Cayden,” I stammered. “What are you doing here?”

This wasn’t what I had in mind when I thought of talking to him. Sure, we needed to have a conversation, and truth be told I probably wasn’t going to tell him everything over the phone. But I had hoped that I would at least be able to prepare myself for a face-to-face of sorts.
