Sophie's POV

Nigel stepped out of the shower and hurriedly put his clothes on. "I still may make the meeting in time." He grabbed his watch, kissed me on the forehead, and told me to order whatever I wanted.

I rolled on the bed and kicked my feet in the air. It was almost as if I needed that quickie to allow myself the freedom to embrace being in Paris fully. The voices from my past were gone, and I felt like a goddess.
