He could sense the thieves now that he and his brothers had wounded them. The thieves couldn’t mask the scent of blood easily, at least not until they healed.

He didn’t know if the nameless leader was a shifter, but he assumed so. In the confusion, he couldn’t keep track of all the enemies–who was a shifter and who wasn’t. The leader never used any of the shifter languages. None of them did.
