POV: Daniel 

The tear in the sky widened with a rippling sound — a whisper of cloth straining under too much weight, soft and quiet at first, then bursting into a harsh, ringing crack that shook the ground under our feet.

The child cowered closer to Clara, shaking so violently its form seemed to flicker in and out. Its golden glow faded, then flared with a violent intensity, reacting to its own fear.

Not good. 

Not good at all.
