*Hattie*

The world spins for a few minutes, and a sharp throb in the back of my head radiates toward my eyes. Through my closed eyelids, the world seems too bright for a well of this depth, and the idea that I should be sinking in a bottomless well has my eyes flying open.

But there's no water----only air. And a gritty, earthy taste in my mouth.

This isn't right. Where's the water?

Spitting frantically, I look up just in time to see a clump of dirt falling ...
