I follow Marcus through Silver Enterprises, my steps echoing off marble floors.

"The kid works in accounting. Low-level." Marcus glances back at me. "You sure you want to waste time on this?"

"I'm sure."

We stop outside a glass-walled office. Allen sits at a desk, hunched over paperwork. He looks smaller than he did in the restaurant. Less confident.

"I'll handle this alone."
