Anna's breathing finally evens out.

I sit on the edge of the bed. Watch her chest rise and fall. Her face smooths in sleep—no more tension, no more fear.

'I fucked up. Pushed too hard in the bathroom.'

Anthony whimpers. 'We scared her. Made her relive it.'

The memory burns. Her scream. The terror in her eyes. My hands on her body when all she could feel was him.

'Stupid. So fucking stupid.'
