Anna's POV:

Three mornings in a row I've woken up and kept breakfast down without incident. The nausea has settled into something manageable — domesticated, present but not ruling — and something about that quiet accumulation of small victories has shifted in me.

I tell Alexander at dinner that I'm going back to work.
