“Come on,” I said, rolling my eyes. “I don’t think I'm that bad.”

“Oh, but you are,” Melanie threw a look over her shoulder as she headed back into the house.

“This is an extravagant gift, Genevieve. I’m afraid I can’t accept it.” I said, holding out the key to her.

She twirled, walking away from me. “Unfortunately, I won't be taking it back. If you don't want it, throw the keys away.”

“You don't mean it,” I said, my hand falling to my side.
