I don't know how long we slept but every time I opened my eyes, he was still with me. Even when his phone rang and he told them he wasn't coming into work.

I wasn't worried about anything or anyone. I just wanted to stay in Jaxon's arms forever. But, the next time I woke up, he was gone. I sat up, clutching the blanket around my chest. I stilled myself, trying to listen for traces of him.
