The exhaustion hit me like a freight train, the kind that knocks every ounce of strength right out of your body. The second my back touched the bed, I was gone. Out cold. No sound, no thought, no feeling. It was as if someone had flipped every switch in me and shut down the entire system. Thank God I still managed to take a shower before collapsing.
