Matilda's pov
Over the course of the night, the chains had become colder. Every time I shifted positions, they hummed because Rhys had bound both my body and my breath.
The sleep was sporadic, fragmented, and insomniac. Suddenly, I was no longer in the destroyed hallway.
I was in a clearing with silver grass. Everything was illuminated by the mild light of the low, full, white moon.
"Where am I?" I muttered.
A voice said, "Where your blood recalls."
