The cold was the first sensation I experienced.

It was a deep, agonizing cold that seemed to be in my soul, not the cold from the outside.

The lack of sound was the second factor.

No guards, no breeze, and no conversations. Just full, crushing quiet.

I was on my side.

The magic-dampening ropes seemed heavier and tighter than before, and my arms remained securely bound behind my back.

Even with the blindfold removed, I could still feel the darkness approaching.
