Selene's pov

The smell of smoke and pine sap, along with the torchlights piercing the darkness, made the night air stick to me like silk. It was warm and heavy. The hem of my dress touched the wet grass as I tipped out of the hall in a loud yet shadowy manner. Behind me, I could still hear Blood Moon's loud roar, the pounding, the laughter, and the clamor of goblets. Ignorant of the fissures already appearing in their walls, they rejoiced in their strength and solidarity.
