Zoe POV

A knock on my door.

"Zoe?" Jacob's voice. "James wants to see you in his office."

I follow him through the packhouse. He's quiet. Doesn't make his usual jokes.

'Something's up.'

We reach James's office. Jacob opens the door for me, then nods and leaves. The door closes behind him.

My mother is already inside. She smiles when she sees me.
