FREYA’s POV ———————
Since the disappearance of this man, I had been longing to see him but I didn’t see him and I couldn't help but think he was just playing around.
The mating ceremony with the Alpha was set to begin in a few moments from now.
I haven't paid heed to his warning because I can't do an imaginary man bidding over my father's. That was not possible, I sighed at the longing feeling in my chest.
I have never been this downcast and moody, but I'm here sulking over a man that might be a fragment of my imagination. I shrugged off the thoughts from my head and I looked at my reflection in the mirror.
I looked absolutely amazing in my black dress. I have been persistent with the fact that I wanted to wear a dress of my favorite color. Black.
My Father, who had no other option, obliged even though it was strange for a bride to wear a black dress to her marriage party.
“You look absolutely ravishing. You need to wear more dresses as you look more beautiful in them.” Alicia, my sister, said, and I rolled my head at her smiling.
Alicia had always been the obedient and docile daughter of my father, she had never given them a bit of stress since I have known her as a sister.
On the other hand, I have always been stubborn and mischievous. We were two different humans but she loved me so much despite the troubles I have caused her.
A trumpet blew and she smiled knowing the Alpha had arrived. I was happy when I found out that Alpha is a human like us, we are surrounded by lots of werewolves and the last thing I wanted was to be involved with one of them.
“Let's go down now, your groom has arrived and I'm sure he will be mesmerized by your dazzling beauty. I did a great job on you even though you won't appreciate my work.”, She grumbled, and I smiled at her.
“It's beautiful and thank you very much.” I said, and she lightened up.
A knock and I stood up knowing it was my father and I knew seeing me still sitting down would get him annoyed.
I walked quickly to the door acting like I was about leaving, and his worried eyes looked at me in relief.
I'm sure he thought I would leave the palace at the peak of the celebration. But that's the last thing I would do, disgracing my father is the last thing on my list.
He didn't say anything as I wrapped my hand on his, and we walked down to the hall with my nervousness steeping in.
“And we welcome the princess and her father.” A guard announced, with his voice booming very loud making me more nervous.
The crowd cheered and their mouths were left open as they stared at me in admiration. Alicia surely did a marvelous work on me.
I kept a straight face until we got to where my supposed husband was sitting. I looked up and what I saw repulsed me, he was very ugly and old (my father lied), I frowned but I quickly hid it with a smile.
“You look absolutely beautiful. I'm happy to have you as mine.”, His sentence sounded dumb just like he looked, I bit the sass from escaping from my lips else things might get ruined for father.
“Thank you”, I said, without a smile on my face as I sat down beside him.
“Let the bride and groom come forth.” the priest said, smiling.
He held my hand and I felt like punching his face, but I refrained myself from doing it, not believing I was getting married to something like that.
“Do you Freya Sinclair take Albert Lea as your lawful wedded husband?”, the priest said, and I stilled looking at the man I was tying the knot with.
I swallowed, as I stared at him with disgust. Why would they want me to get married to him?
“Freya”, Alicia whispered.
“Huh?”
“Say something, everyone is looking”, she whispered again, and I realized that I had not responded.
I opened my mouth and was about to say something, but there was a sudden change in the atmosphere which made everyone pause whatever they were doing.
“No she won't.” A husky voice that I was sure I have heard before said, I felt the longing sensation in my chest dissolving.
I looked towards the direction of the voice and it was the man from the balcony, he was still wearing the mask. I didn't know when I smiled but I killed it immediately seeing the furious look on his face.
Remembering his warning for me not to get married to Albert, I swallowed watching him take long strides towards me.
“Who are you and how dare you disrupt my wedding?”, Albert asked, feigning bravery even though his hand was shaking.
He swallowed hard when the balcony man stared at me with a life threatening gaze.
“I told you not to get married to him. Why did you go on with the marriage? Do you want me to carry out my threats on him?” He asked, pulling me away from Albert.
“You don't own me and I would do my father's bidding at any time any day.” I looked at my father, who looked scared.
“I own you, you are mine. Mine to keep forever and you would be leaving with me.” He smirked as he caressed my hand, erupting shivers.
“I'm not yours. Stop this madness, I don't know you and you don't know me.”
“You are my mate.” He announced, growling as he bared his canines and I gasped moving back as my fear had come to pass.
He's a werewolf and I broke into tears staring at him with disgust. I never wanted to have anything to do with a werewolf.
“I don't want a werewolf as my mate, I don't care about them and I hate you all.” I said, and he winced looking at me with hurt in his eyes.
Looking at the man I wanted to get married to bowing to him and I realized that he's a werewolf too. Why was everyone bowing to him instead of stopping him?
“You will soon come, let's go home where you will be my queen.”
“No, I reject you.” I said, using the words I have watched in movies.
And he growled, angrily picking me up as he ran into the woods ignoring my protest.
I felt my life crumbling down, what I hated the most was finally finding its way to me.
