A smirk pulled at Melanie's lips as she stared at Carl quizzically, eager to hear his response. A heavy silence lingered in the air as Carl struggled with finding a response. He didn't want to tell her that he loved Amanda. He believes that she might doubt him because of his different status from Amanda, plus, there are Nine hundred and ninety nine reasons for him to never be committed to her since he's a type that flirt with ladies. 

Carl hesitated for a while before replying, “Nope. ...
