Amanda returned late that evening in a drunken state. After her encounter with Mr. Finn, she had gone to a bar to drink and to drown her sorrows and forget, if only for a little while. After leaving the bar, she boarded a cab down to the hostel.

Her body reeked of alcohol. She couldn't even recollect the number of drinks she consumed. All she knew was that she kept drinking and ordering for more drinks.
