Andrei's POV

Stepping out of the holding room we kept the red hair in, I marched down the hall, stopped at an elevator fixated on the wall, and pressed the button for my office floor.

The building we’re currently in is one of our many operational branch sites in Nettuno. The main office is located in Rome.

I enter the elevator and wait for it to arrive where it's supposed to while I think back to my new captive.

There is more to the story of their betrayal than just my shipments, more depth to my lingering hatred for her family, and through her, I will make them all pay.

The elevator stops at the destination, and I walk off towards my office while my men step out and stand by the doorway. I push open the door of my office and shut it behind me.

The office interior is made up of two ceiling-length bookshelves, a dark mahogany table in the center of the room with large potted plants at each end of the wall behind it.

I walk toward my table and have a sit, unbuttoning the button of my button-down sleeve, rolling it to my elbow, and resting my back on the seat of my chair then glance at the computer screen where a live surveillance of the holding room shows the girl with her head turned away from the camera.

Just then a knock on the door makes me look away just as my third in command, and my cousin, Valentino, comes into the room. He sits in the chair on the opposite side of my table,” Brother, I heard that you abducted someone, what's going on?” he asked me. Valentino is a very blunt and straightforward man, which some may call rude or brutally honest.

He's the one in charge of all things weaponry, offloading and loading of weapons for transport, training new recruits in mastering all weapons imaginable, and attacks overall.

I look at him then turn the laptop in front of me to face him, he takes a look at the screen and stares back at me with a raised brow. I roll my eyes at him,” That's the daughter of the Alexe family” I inform him. He raises two brows in surprise and stares back at the screen,” Well that's a surprise, so what do you intend to do with her?” He asks me, just as I'm about to answer him, we hear from the laptop's speaker the girls shout, I turn the laptop in a way that we both can see what's going on and we see her, VannaRae, shouting at the girl I had sent to deliver food to our prisoner. Valentino watches in curiosity and I just watch blankly at the screen, the girl swings the water out of the maid's grasp and the maid shifts back. Valentino turns to look at me,” For a prisoner, she's got guts I've got to hand that to her” he says with a laugh and looks back at the girl on the screen, I ignore him and continue looking at the screen, we hear the girl command the girl to tell me that she wishes to meet with her father.

A corner of my lip raises in a smirk interesting I think to myself. We see as the maid leaves the room them my cousin turns his attention to me while I turned my attention to my phone,” so brother, what are you going to do about your little spit fires request?” he asks me,” you sound a little too excited to know what's to happen” I state without looking up while sending a message for one of the men holding her family to come to my office,” well I can’t help it” he shrugs playfully then turns serious,” but considering you have the daughter of the Alexe family here, what do you plan?” he asks me.

Just then a knock sounds through my door and I call the person to enter, the henchman I called for, Gus, comes into the room,” We’ll talk about it later brother, I believe there are some recruits to train” I tell my cousin. He looks at me quizzically before standing up,” Alright then, see you later” he says then turns and walks out of the office.

I turn my attention to Gus who stands quietly by the door, hands behind his back and head bowed slightly in respect,” I want you to go to get another man to arrange a meeting room for our prisoners, get the old man that your watching and the new prisoner to the meeting room and let them interact for, I will arrive there shortly” I instruct him. He bows his head then leaves to execute the orders I gave.

Looking back at the screen, I remember the damage caused by her family to mine. It's more than just missing goods, they became a threat to my family as well, leaving us with a permanent scar that won't fade no matter the amount of time that passes. From how it appears, VannaRae does not know about any of it, oblivious to her family’s past and misdeeds, her expression shows it all, she's easy to read like an open book, but that won't spare her from being used as a tool to inflict pain to the ones who caused us pain and I’ll make sure they'll live their whole lives remembering it all.

I stand from my seat and stretch my limbs, going around the table and heading out the door. As I reach the elevator, my henchman, Bert, the tatted one, informs me of which meeting room was prepared and that everything is set in motion. I entered the elevator, going down, thinking about the outcome that will come out of this discussion, a fire is about to ignite and I am ready to light the torch.
