My body makes a decision around week eighteen that it doesn't consult me about: it starts showing.

Not dramatically—I'm still me, still recognizably myself in the mirror—but there's a curve now that wasn't there before, undeniable in a way that makes morning different. I stand in front of the small mirror in our cabin and put both hands on my stomach and my silver glow has shifted, more bluer at the edges.
