Dominic checked his watch for the third time in five minutes. Eleven fifteen. Fifteen minutes until they moved out. Everything was ready. Bikes fueled. Weapons loaded. Members briefed on the plan.

He walked back to the kitchen to check on Maya one last time before leaving. Found Carol washing dishes alone.

"Where's Maya?" Dominic looked around the empty kitchen.

"Bathroom." Carol dried her hands on a towel. "She's been in there a while actually. Maybe twenty minutes."
