Dawn came too fast. Maya hadn't slept at all. Just sat in that corner watching everyone else try to rest. Some managed it. Most didn't.

Dominic was up first. Started checking weapons. Making calls. Planning whatever came next.

"We need supplies," he told Jake. "Food. Water. Medical stuff. Ammo."

"I'll make a run," Jake said. "Take two guys. Be back in an hour."
