“Hey!” I announce my arrival at my parents’ house. “Is anybody home?”

“Out here.”

My dad’s voice is coming from the back porch. Sighing, I take my shoes off and kick them into the corner with everyone else’s. Judging by the shoes lying there, the family’s all here.
