Eve’s POV

As Malik and I moved deeper into the forest, my newly awakened wolf pulled at me with urgency. My every step and breath quickened.

Danny’s scent was faint but it was strong enough to guide us to him.

Malik’s chest rose and fell rapidly beside me. Every now and then, I felt his eyes flick toward me, checking with worry and confusion, but he didn’t slow me down to ask questions, instead he quickened his pace to match mine.
