ALAINA’S POV

My knuckles turned white as I clenched my fists. The laughter, the taunting voices, the cruel smiles — they all echoed in my head.

“Alaina, how much is it per night?” one of them sneered.

“What are you wearing? It’s filthy. Where’s your skirt?” another spoke.

“Take it off. We like you better naked.”

Their voices were more vile than any wound I’d ever endured. Even Selene whimpered inside me. I could feel her sadness vibrating through my chest.
