My heart thumped loudly in my chest when I found Jace in Rylan's chamber. I stayed back in my office for some hours just to convince myself that he was already out of the chamber, but it turned out I had fooled myself.

I had to take a lot of small breaths to keep my mind sane. What was he doing in the Alpha's chamber? What case was he reporting to him? Was it the fact that I threatened to kill him if he didn't delete the videos?
