Bruce's POV

Beverly paced the living room with her phone clutched in her hand. She had been reading and rereading the contract for the past hour.

"What if it fails?" she asked while her voice trembled. "What if people hate it? What if I cannot handle being a published author and Luna and mother?"

I caught her hand and pulled her down beside me on the couch. "You are spiraling."

"I am realistic," she countered while her eyes were wide with panic. "This is a huge commitment. Three books. ...
