Seeing Beverly loading suitcases into her car shattered every wall I had carefully constructed over the past weeks. My wolf roared with panic so intense it drowned all rational thought. She was leaving and it was entirely my fault.

I parked and got out with my legs shaking. "What are you doing?" The question came out broken and desperate because I already knew the answer. Beverly straightened her spine, her face streaked with tears she was not bothering to hide anymore.
