I stood between James and the door, every muscle in my body wanted a fight. Chen was here, with the Council. The timing could not be worse and I knew that was intentional. They had waited until Beverly was at her weakest, until we were vulnerable, before making their move. Calculated and ruthless. Exactly what I expected from Chen and exactly why I hated Council politics.
