My jaw fell, breath catching. My eyes refused to blink. Was any of this real?

I turned to my mum slowly, almost like I was scared Jenine would run off back to where she'd come from if I looked away too fast.

My mum's brows were raised, eyes wide. Zonda's face revealed nothing but his lips twitched.
