Grace POV

My heart pounds against my ribs.

Ethan stares down at me, his eyes dark and intense, still braced above me on the bed. The question hangs in the air between us like smoke.

'Why do you smell like you have a wolf?'

"I don't know what you mean." The words tumble out too fast.

His jaw tightens. "Grace."

I sit up, forcing him to pull back. My hands shake as I straighten my shirt—his shirt. "I swear I don't know what you're talking ...
