Three days.

Three days since Ethan left that night and didn't come back.

I know he's here. In the manor. On the territory.

I hear his voice sometimes. Distant. Muffled through closed doors.

I catch his scent in hallways he's just walked through.

But I don't see him.

He doesn't come to my room. Doesn't seek me out. Doesn't even appear at meals.

It's deliberate.

I understand why.
