Scalding hot fire seeps through my bloodstream. My body shakes with terror. My ear stings, a sharp pinch dipping in.

I feel so far away. I feel like I’m a hundred miles away from here. The doctor’s lips are moving, but I can’t hear a word.

Everything slurs. I’m watching things explode before my eyes the way I watch a movie, and I can’t do anything about it. I’m trying to grab onto something, anything, just to steady myself from this moving ferris wheel.
