My hand freezes midair with a pizza slice halfway to my mouth as my eyes widen at Nova like she’s just grown another head.

“What did you say?” I whisper hoarsely, leaning back against the couch.

She shrugs, swallowing her bite before sitting up from the opposite couch.

“I want to make plans—pull some strings—to get my parents back together.” She shrugs again. “Why are you looking at me like that? Don’t you think it’s a good idea?”
