Daniel’s POV:
I want to tell her that I also have the same feeling about this place, and I’m sure this place will be our place.
Suddenly her stomach growls. I think she hasn't had her lunch yet; I also haven't eaten mine.
"You haven't had lunch yet, have you? I haven't eaten either. So, if you don't mind, can we have something when we reach the city?"
"No, I haven't. Okay. I think we already reached the city. There are some small restaurants, we will grab something on our way.“
Okay, now I have to be even more careful with my surroundings. People will recognise me anywhere. I put on my mask as I am already wearing a cap, people will not recognise me easily. Still, I have to be careful.
“Why are you wearing your mask?"
“Just for pollution, nothing more. You should also try to wear a mask when you’re in the streets. Otherwise, the city's pollution will affect you.” I somehow manage her today.
“Hey. Look there!" She points her left index finger to my right, but there is nothing.
“What? There is nothing."
“Look there. That seller. He is selling hotdogs." She points in the same direction again. Now I see some man in his late 40’s selling hotdogs from a small vehicle. Don’t tell me she’s going to eat that. I think this is the reason for her weakness. She has to eat healthy, not something like this.
“No, not that. It’s not healthy."
"Please?" She is giving me her puppy eyes. The look on her face is very clear If you don't allow me to eat that, I'll cry. Right here, in the road. So I have to accept her request and I can’t resist her puppy eyes. This is the last time. Next time, I won't allow her to eat something like that, even if she gives me her puppy eyes.
"Okay, but this is the last time."
"Okay, okay. Let’s go!"
We both walk closer to him.
“Hi. How much is this?" she asks the man, indicating the hotdogs.
"$1," he replies.
“Okay. Give us four. Two for me, and two for him.“ She orders for me too.
“I'm not going to eat this. Only you're going to eat it."
"No, you’re also eating," she argues.
I'm sure she won't let it go. Okay, let’s see why she wants to eat this.
"Okay," I sigh.
The man hands us two plates. She starts to eat without any hesitation. After sometime, she notices that I still haven't started eating. Without saying anything, she takes a small piece from my plate and holds it near my mouth. At first I am confused. What is she doing? After realising what she is doing, my eyes blur as I try hard not to cry. I simply open my mouth, and she feeds me the first bite. After that, I still don't eat, so she starts to feed me while she eats. I’m enjoying this small moment.
Then I see a group of men wearing all black walking toward us. I instantly panic. No, they are not my enemies, they are my bodyguards, and the man in the centre is none other than Oliver.
Shit. If she sees them, the day will be turned upside down. She’ll hate me. No, I’m not going to let this happen.
While she is eating her hotdog, I signal Oliver not to come any closer. I know he'll understand. He stops them and they move towards the car and start scanning my surroundings to find out if there is any kind of threat.
Oliver is looking at her with eagle eyes like she’s going to kill me any second. He notices her feeding me, and his eyes grow wide as he gives me a shocked look.
Her mobile suddenly starts to ring. She stops feeding me, and looks at the screen. I curse the person who ruined our little moment.
Once I get to who it is, I’ll definitely kill him or her.
She answers the call, "Hi, Cathy."
Ms. Joseph is the person I want to kill now. But I can’t do that, otherwise my Tesoro will kill me.
"Oh shit! Sorry, sorry I totally forgot. I’m coming. I’ll be there in ten minutes." She cuts the call and looks at me with an apologetic look. What happened now?
“I'm sorry. I have to go now. I totally forgot that we are going to meet Cathy’s mom and sister today and going to spend this weekend with them. I have to leave now, bye.”
What? she’s going? I won't be able to meet her for two days. I don’t want her to go, but I can't stop her. She has to enjoy her life. Okay, I’ll meet her once she is back. Control, control. She's going for only two days.
Then I suddenly think of something. “It's okay. But you didn’t tell me your name.“ I say hopefully.
“We only met today. If we meet again, I'll tell you my name. You can also tell me your name next time. I won't ask Cathy. Okay, bye.”
She pays for our hotdogs, and calls a cab. I want to drop her, but I can’t do that. The cab arrives within five minutes. She gets into her cab. She waves at me saying, "bye." through the window.
"Bye. I wish I can see you again. Thank you for this beautiful day. I really enjoyed your company," she says just before her door closes.
“Me too. Bye. Safe journey, enjoy your weekend and take care,“ I return.
I stare after the cab until it leaves my sight. I can have information about her within seconds, but I want her to trust me and give me her information on her own. I know I’m hiding my identity from her, but I’ll reveal it to her soon.
Oliver is still looking at me with wide eyes. I don’t want, or need, to explain anything to anyone and now I have ensured her safety because she is not with me. With these thoughts, I get into the car.
After me, Oliver also enters the car and sits in the passenger seat.
"Mr Smith, ensure that girl's safety from today onwards. She is my PA, ms. Joseph's, best friend and she is leaving for the weekend with Ms. Joseph. So, you can easily track her with the mobile that we gave to Ms. Joseph for work. Track that mobile's GPS, and make sure that girl is safe."
"Okay, sir."
