‘ What's going on?’ Ariel wondered, peeping out of her room. The sound of steps running, vans and cars vooming out of the compound had nudged at her that something was up.

Her brow furrowed as she watched guards pace, rushing out in utmost urgency.

Her pulse spiked. Every instinct in her screamed to follow, to see what was happening, to understand why the air itself felt electric with tension.
