ELIAS'S POV

We found Lee the next night in the old equipment storage room. He looked terrified when he arrived. Kept checking over his shoulder like Mercer might appear any second.

"You said you could help me," he said immediately. No greeting. No pleasantries. Just desperation.

"We can try," Ronan said. "But we need to know your situation first. How long before your suppressants fail completely?"

"Four days. Maybe five if I ration them."

"That's not much time."
