Deborah’s POV

Deborah woke up feeling warm.

It wasn't her fire magic making her hot, but Erick holding her close. His arm was around her, and she could feel his breath on her neck. The chains linking them glowed softly in the dark cave.

For a second, she just enjoyed the feeling of being safe, like everything was right, and she felt peaceful for the first time.

Then she remembered everything.

"What have I done?" she thought.

The eclipse symbol on the floor was still glowing, showing ...
