Deborah’s POV

Dying felt like burning in a silver fire.

Deborah felt like she was floating in the dark, her body far away. The poison from the dark blade spread through her, turning her blood cold. She felt herself disappearing.

Far away, someone called her name.

"Deborah. Please. Come back to me."

It was Erick. His voice sounded desperate. She tried to reach him, but couldn't move. Her body felt like it wasn't hers.

"I can't," she tried to say, but no sound came out.
