Erick’s POV

The cave entrance was hard to see. Vines and moss covered it. Erick only found it because his marks glowed when he got close. There was old magic inside, wards that knew he was a hybrid.

"We're here," he said, holding Deborah tighter. She said she could walk, but her legs were weak. The drug was still affecting her. "Can you feel it?"

Deborah lifted her head, her eyes blurry. "Lunar magic. Old. Safe."

"Safe," he agreed, carrying her inside.
