Erick’s POV

The first Void Hunter appeared through the cave wall like smoke.

I had only half a second. I created an ice shield, pulling Deborah behind me as the creature's clawed hand nearly hit her head. The ice broke easily, and the Void Hunter's power burned through me like acid.

"Erick!" Deborah's hands glowed silver, but I pushed her back.

"Stay behind me!"
