“What?” I screamed. My chest heaved, and my skin felt like it was on fire.

“You’re lying!” I shrieked, my voice echoing through the cold, white penthouse. “You’re a liar and a snake, and I’m not listening to this bullshit anymore!”

My hands were shaking so violently, I had to ball them into fists. My whole body was buzzing, a mix of adrenaline and pure heartbreak.
