"Be careful." Dad stands at the door, Baron and Lira clinging to his legs. "Call me if anything changes."

"I will." I pull on my coat, glancing at the twins. "Be good for Grandpa, okay? I'll be back soon."

"Tell Grandma Pat we love her," Lira says softly.

My throat tightens. "I will, baby."

The drive back to Fire Moon Memorial takes twenty minutes. The roads are familiar now—I park in the visitor lot and head straight for the entrance.
