Evelina took all four children on a Friday afternoon with the efficiency of a woman who had done this before and had opinions about how it should be executed.

Baron had a bag. Lira had three bags and a sketchbook she'd refused to leave behind. Asher had his blanket and a small stone he was currently attached to. Selene had, inexplicably, a hat she didn't need because it was June.
